‘Swasthya Sathi’ is an important scheme of the Trinamool Congress government which provides an annual health cover of five lakh rupees per family. Talking to reporters Hakim said that the Chief Minister stood in queue like a common man to get the card. He said that it shows that he is one of the common people of the state. On Monday, the Chief Minister had requested all the ministers to take their respective cards. State Chief Secretary A. Bandopadhyay had said that more than one crore people have registered themselves under this scheme so far.
West Bengal government aims to ensure eye health for all by 2025: Mamta Banerjee
Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday announced a five-year eye care program under which people will be given free from cataract surgery to prescribed spectacles. Banerjee said that the goal of the state government is to ensure eye health for all by 2025. Banerjee said that in all government schools, free eye check-up of students will be done and glasses will be given to four lakh children if needed. Meanwhile, a senior official said that the Chief Minister will go to the Kolkata Municipal Corporation distribution center near his Kalighat residence here tomorrow to get his ‘Swasthya Saathi’ smart card. It is a state-of-the-art health care scheme for the second and tertiary health care. According to Chief Secretary Alphan Bandopadhyay, Banerjee will stand in line with the common people to get her health partner smart card. The Chief Minister taking charge of the Health Department has appealed to other ministers to join the Health Partner Scheme.
