Details

Carla Gugino journeys to the remote cabin with her boyfriend, to spice up her wedding, but he dies when she’s handcuffed to her bed, and now she’s alone and starves. A spiritual feature, but also a bravura showcase of Gugino ‘s extraordinary acting ability, is Mike flanagan’s impeccably crafted adaptation of the Stephen King novel Gerald ‘s Game.

2. Calibre (2018)

Run time: 1h 41minIMDb: 6.7/10

Details

Director: Matt Palmer

Writer: Matt Palmer

Starring: Jack Lowden, Martin McCann, Tony Curran

This is maybe more a mystery than a horror movie, but we will somehow bring the number up to 50 and it finishes in an uncomfortable way. And we’re swearing that not everyone will be Netflix Originals (the top of the alphabet is just a lot). Two Scotsmen hunt and a horrific crash leads to a little boy being wounded. They try to cover things up rather than own the horror. If the films have shown us something it’s never helps to cover up the death of a child.

3. Scream 2 (1997)

Run time: 2h 2minIMDb: 6.2/10

Details

Director: Wes Craven

Scream 2 doesn’t disappoint, though. It’s quick to go for a horror sequel. Two years after the scream events Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) now has to encounter a copycat murderer from Ghostface who terrorizes her college campus. Self-conscious without ever being bordered upon parody, Scream 2 is a perfect descent into the terrible sequence while still delivering fear, squandering and suspicion of everyone.

Although the virus spreads quickly in all train cars when only one zombie is on board for the first time. The towns that are overwhelmed by the undead already are a great way for the frightened passengers to stay on the train and try to remain long enough to reach the quarantine zone. He couldn’t really put his finger upon it, but everywhere and there are suspected little details, and the entire movie is expertly kept by director Karyn Kusama, curious to know what really is happening. The Invitation is a quiet thriller of suspense, but it’s a must-see, if you want a film with a slow burn and excellent mental perspective.

Brian Cox and Emile Hirsch play the coroners of their father and son who learn with sufficient suspense that their unknown body has a lengthy and mysterious history. To tell more, the movie will ruin the many shifts and twists, but this is a rather crafty, brisk, and successful horror film by director André Øvredal from Trollhunter.

This is probably the best zombie film you have not really watched. It is an epic set of knowledge that children are held in an underground bunker because they might have the button to a devastating future. The less you ‘re familiar with this film the better, it’s a complex, fearsome new approach to the classic concepts that even George A. Romero would like to take.

9. Veronica (2017)

Run time: 1h 45min| IMDb: 6.2/10

Details

Director: Paco Plaza

“Veronica” “the best horror movie ever.” It tells the story of its main character at the beginning of the 1990’s by Sandra Escacena, who had to raise her young siblings because her mother still works and her father is gone. During a solar eclipse, she comes across on a ouija board and wants to play with her friends. A true story from Madrid’s police files is apparently based mostly on movie.

Run time: 1h 52min| IMDb: 7.5/10

Details

The most influential horror subgender of the 2010s was a constant image of the house where nice families of America are terrorized by horrific artifacts and sites. This movie is so fun because it’s spine-changing with an amazing cast (also featured by Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor) and director James Wan.
