The third generation actor-director of the Kapoor family, Rajiv Kapoor, has been merged with Chimpo Panchatattva. 58-year-old Rajeev died of a heart attack on Tuesday morning. But like his brother Rishi Kapoor, he could not watch his last film Tulsidas Junior. Ashutosh Gowariker shared this on his social media.
Saddened to hear about the passing of Rajiv Kapoor! I was a fan from his Ram Teri Ganga Maili days.
We had wrapped shoot for my home production TOLSIDAS JUNIOR, directed by Mridul!
Rajiv was so affable and played his part with much fun & ease. Will miss him deeply !! 🙇 pic.twitter.com/hZOiUolMde

Ashutosh wrote – Sad to hear about the demise of Rajiv Kapoor! I have been his fan since the days of ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’. Tulsidas Jr., who made Mridul’s direction and in my home production, recently rapped the shoot. Rajiv was very sociable and played his role with great fun and ease. Will miss you very much. Ashutosh also told that two days ago his team had called Rajiv to give interviews for the film promotion.
Sushma Seth brought a huge bouquet
Sushma Seth, who was the co-star of Rajiv in Ram Teri Ganga Maili, said. Sushma said- Very sad news !! He played the role of his elder mother in Ram Teri Ganga Maili with Rajiv. We first met on the set of ‘Prem Rog’. They were assisting Raj Kapoor. I remember, on the first day on the set, he brought me a huge bouquet. Bigger than I had ever seen before. Today the same things are coming before my eyes. He had a fresh start as an assistant in Prem Rog but he was very dedicated. I had a great experience shooting with him. The Kapoor dynasty is known for its sake. Rajiv was also one of them.
Hearing the news of Rajiv, my heart is crying- Shakti Kapoor
On hearing this news, Shakti Kapoor said- Rajiv was a very good friend and very good person. I am not in Mumbai right now, but my heart is crying after hearing the news of his death. Two sons of the Kapoor family died during this corona period. It is a matter of great regret. This is a huge tragedy for the Kapoor family. He is the biggest family for the film industry. I worked with Rajiv in Angare and Mera Saathi, two films. Also worked with Chintu and Karisma. My family, my wife, my sister Padmini Kolhapure, etc. are all very close to the Kapoor family. My heart is crying after hearing such sad news.
