New Delhi: Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar has leveled at former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. On a question to reporters here in connection with Rahul Gandhi criticizing the central government for the new agriculture and peasant movement, Union Minister Tomar said, ‘Congress does not even take Rahul seriously what he says. There is no question of the country.
He said this after meeting an organization of farmers who came to meet him at Krishi Bhavan here. Tomar answered the reporters’ question and said, “Today when Rahul Gandhi went to express his opposition to the President, when I asked these farmers, they said that no member of Congress had come to sign them.”
Agriculture Minister targeted Congress
Taking a dig at the Congress, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said, “If Rahul Gandhi had so much concern for the farmers, then when he had a government, then he could do something through the government. The character of Congress has always been anti-farmer.
The Union Agriculture Minister said, ‘In the 2019 manifesto about these three new agricultural bills (three agricultural laws implemented by the central government), Rahul Gandhi said that if we come into government, we will abolish APMC and farmers’ crops without tax. Will ensure to be procured. Contract farming will be encouraged and the Essential Commodities Act will be abolished and made new.
