Question-
In the year 2020, when the world was facing the wrath of Corona, the question was whether elections would be held. In such a situation, it was decided to elect Bihar assembly. The outbreak of Corona is still going on and the assembly elections of five states are going to be held next year. You used to say that the decision to hold the Bihar assembly elections is a right decision in the Corona period and you proved that how is the preparation for the assembly elections in five states?
answer-See, our system is a lot of background homework. Our Secretary General has held a meeting with the CBSE people regarding the election of 5 states, including Bengal, to get information about the examination of children so that there is no conflict (dates) with the timing of the election. There was also a meeting with the officials of the Home Ministry regarding the force. All these rounds are over. The Deputy Election Commissioner of Bengal first visited Bengal. On Monday, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry officials will also go to Umesh Sinha. The first phase of the Election Commission is that once officials go and then go to the Election Commission has started.

Question-

The process of election preparation has started. The way the election of Bengal is being viewed. It is being said that there will be a very aggressive election. Politically, the BJP President was attacked, a BJP delegation also met you. What would you say was the demand for deployment of paramilitary forces and the imposition of the Code of Conduct immediately?
answer-

You keep an eye on what are the problems from political point of view and also make headlines. Many times you do not make headlines, but if you were in it, you made it.
The BJP delegation came to us. We told them about the visit of the Election Commission official. After the information related to the DEC tour related to Bengal, we will make a valid decision.

Question-
Do you believe that there will be a violence-free election in Bengal?
answer-
We do not give affidavit on anything, it is our effort to make free and fair elections. So far, God has given success, we hope that the efforts of the Election Commission will be successful.

Question-
You said that we will take action based on the Bengal report?
answer-
The entire commission will also go to Bengal and electoral states. We need imperial input. The report of the officers who visit the state is important for us.
We also said that after this the commission will also go. Interacts with officials in electoral states. In the electoral state, we begin by talking to political parties.
Our eyes are more on the electoral states than you. Wherever there is an election, we are watching.

Question-
How many elections will be held and when will the announcement be made?
answer-
You will also announce the election in the press conference and invite you, then you will know that in how many stages will the election take place?

Question-
During the Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh, you made a big decision regarding the CBDT report, on what basis have you taken this action?
answer-
The CBDT report was credible and was not shared with anyone, during the last Lok Sabha election, the CBDT took some action. The report came to us, the commission met. In the meeting of the Commission, it was decided that it should be sent to the DoPT and further CBI should take action. The report that just arrived was a supplementary report in 1 way. Some parts of this report seemed very objectionable at first sight, in which the names of some officers were how they got the money, through whom all the details were provided.
The Commission decided that the Chief Election Officer will send the report to Madhya Pradesh. He should look at the Economic Offices Wing with the country to check the currents.
We do not name any party (in case of one party)

Question-
Will the Election Commission take further action in this matter in the coming days or will the leaders who were involved also take action?
answer-
There are three types of categories in the report, further analysis of the report is also going on, which is a supplementary report, it is also from 2 to 250 pages. There is an annexure of three to four hundred pages, whatever action will be done will be done and will be shared with you.

Question-
Will people of political parties also be acted upon?
answer-
This has not been discussed in the Commission yet.

Question-
After the delimitation of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, how optimistic are the democracies restored in Jammu and Kashmir and the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections?
answer-
The Election Commission had also conducted Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir and some assembly constituencies had to be held in 3 phases. When the Election Commission gets the responsibility, the Election Commission never withdraws from the responsibility, nor will it withdraw. We will fulfill our responsibility.

Question-
About one country one election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that now there is no need for discussion, now this country needs it? How ready is the Election Commission?
answer-
We are ready for this. All the extensive amendments that the legislature does, if it happens, the Election Commission is ready (one country for one election). The Election Commission is neither authorized nor does it.

Question-
You have sent a proposal to the Law Ministry regarding NRI voters. There was also an informal discussion with the people of the Ministry of External Affairs about the facility of postal ballot. Will NRI voters be given the right to postal ballots in five state elections?
answer-
The target of five states is much more ambitious. But the proposal that we sent, has been going on since 2011. We have sent a letter Discussions were held with the Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs There are many levels of conversation for this now. The election of 5 states will be a bit ambitious. Very good if done.
It is wrong that it is a matter of giving to certain countries. For us, citizens are in a country and all are citizens of the country. This process started in 2011. The bill also came but Parliament was dissolved. We suggest that a change in rules will be enough. Proposal is sent after investigating it legally. The Law Ministry will look into the proposal. We will gather immediately after the permission of the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Law.
