While giving this information in a new year greeting message to the snowmen, Director General of ITBP SS Deshwal said that I am very happy to say that the government has allotted land for the ITBP Force Headquarters building at Mathura Road in New Delhi is. This is the first time in the nearly 59-year history of the force that we have got a dedicated land segment available for the force headquarters in the central area of New Delhi. Here soon the headquarters building of the force will be constructed and all our branches will be able to work from the same building.
He said that ITBP has made a memorable contribution in the security and service of the countrymen in this past year. The entire country saw how the snowmen displayed remarkable valor on the border and put no effort in border security with valor, perseverance, dedication. Along with this, in the challenging circumstances of Corona, we all together played a unique role in managing the country and its system against Corona, irrespective of ourselves.
He said that while on the one hand we took our duty firmly by taking initiative in the midst of many challenges during this period, we have also achieved many achievements. Due to the strict protocol followed by ITBP’s field units against Kovid 19, till now we have been successful in controlling this disease in force. We built the country’s first 1000-bed quarantine center in Chawla in January and successfully quarantined the citizens of the country and abroad. Built and distributed face masks and PPE kits in March and April when it was most needed. Along with this, from March to May in the nationwide lock-down, ITBP jawans continuously transported relief material to the needy people to inaccessible remote areas and maintained the smooth passage and also helped the civil administration. ITBP chief said that from July Sardar Patel At Kovid Care Center and Hospital, Radha Swami Vyas, Chhatarpur, New Delhi, we successfully operated the world’s largest 10,000-bed Kovid Care Center, providing free treatment to thousands of people, and the hospital is still functioning. . We also continuously treated our snowmen at ITBP Referral Hospital, Greater Noida, and other forces personnel and policemen, retired personnel and their families in Delhi-NCR for free and this process is still going on.
He said that from this year two command headquarters of the force have started functioning from Chandigarh and Guwahati respectively. Along with protecting the country’s borders, the ITBP was entrusted with other responsibilities. Apart from its original works, ITBP has also played a leading role in the Fit India Mission this year and has conducted successful public awareness campaigns like Mission 200 km and Mission 100 km.
The ITBP DG further said that we have also successfully introduced two mountains – Leo Pargil and Bhagirathi 2 – this year, showing excellent livelihood and continued the training activities. I am happy that ITBP is the most fit security force and we have to ensure this even further.
