Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday addressed the sixth India-Japan Dialogue Conference. During this, he said that the discussion on global development cannot be done only among select countries and its scope should be bigger and the issues wider. He also strongly advocated adopting a humanitarian approach in the form of development. The Prime Minister also proposed the creation of a library for traditional Buddhist literature and scriptures.

PM Modi said, ‘In the past, from imperialism to world wars, from the arms race to the space race, humanity has often taken the path of confrontation. Negotiations took place but its purpose was to pull others back. But now is the time to move forward together.

Emphasizing the need to keep humanity at the center of policies, PM Modi advocated co-existence with nature to be the mainstay.

PM Modi said, ‘Discussion on global development cannot be held between just a few countries. Its scope should be large. Its agenda should be broad. The nature of development should be human-centered. And it should be with the orderliness of the surrounding countries.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister also proposed the creation of a library for traditional Buddhist literature and scriptures.

He said, ‘We will be happy to build such a facility in India and we will provide appropriate resources for this.’
