Farmers Protest: The Chief Minister said that he has made it very clear that the ball is in the court of the Center and the Punjab Government has no role in this dialogue.

Chandigarh Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said on Friday that he had ‘naturally’ directed the police to regularly provide the latest intelligence about the farmers’ performance in the national capital. He denied the opposition’s claim that he had engaged police officers in talks with farmers protesting against the new agricultural laws of the Center on Delhi’s borders. Terming the charge as “absolutely baseless and malicious”, the Chief Minister said in a statement that there is no question of deploying police officers for talks with farmers.

The Chief Minister said that he has made it very clear that the ball is in the court’s center and the Punjab government has no role in this dialogue. Singh said that the farmers are agitating in the state even before the movement started on the borders of Delhi, in such a situation, he naturally gave the police officers not only to the national capital, but also regular intelligence reports about the movement across Punjab and Was instructed to give information about the situation.

He said that the presence of some Punjab Police personnel at the protest site is being manipulated to make sense. Citing some media reports, the Aam Aadmi Party had alleged that the Punjab Chief Minister has deployed two Punjab IPS officers to persuade the farmers to accept the Center’s offer.
