A day before the eighth round of talks with the government of farmer organizations protesting against three agricultural laws, Punjab BJP leaders Surjit Kumar Jeyani and Harjit Singh Grewal asked Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Had a meeting. After the meeting, Jeyani told reporters that the farmers’ organizations should not adopt a stubborn attitude on the demand for repeal of the three agricultural laws.

He also alleged that the Left leaders have entered this movement and they do not want the matter to be resolved. Grewal claimed that the government is ready to do everything in the interest of farmers. It is to be known that Shah had also held talks with representatives of farmer organizations recently to remove the deadlock between farmers and the government.

After failing the seventh round of talks, on Friday, talks are proposed between representatives of farmers’ organizations and ministers of the government at Vigyan Bhavan. Union ministers who interacted with farmers include Narendra Singh Tomar, Piyush Goyal and Som Prakash. Just before the talks, the farmers’ organizations took out a tractor march and said that they did their rehearsal by taking out the march before the Republic Day parade on January 26. Jyani and Grewal had also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence the previous day. Jeyani was handed over the chairmanship of the Farmers Coordination Committee set up by the BJP last year to discuss the three agricultural bills with the farmers of Punjab. At that time these bills were not passed by the Parliament. Grewal was also a member of this committee. In the seventh round of talks between the government and the farmers, no solution was found to the deadlock.
