Emma Stone introduced at Disney’s D23 conference that the “101 Dalmatians” spinoff movie “Cruella” has a “punk rock” vibe and is about in London in the Nineteen Seventies.
PHOENIX — Scottsdale native Emma Stone is staying busy.
The Oscar-winning actress has seemingly performed all of it: She’s outrun zombies in “Zombieland” and the upcoming “Zombieland: Double Tap,” danced and sang alongside Ryan Gosling in “La La Land” and even bowed down to Queen Anne in “The Favourite.”
But now Stone is taking up a brand new, however acquainted, position: Cruella de Vil in the upcoming “101 Dalmatians” spinoff movie “Cruella.”
The first look was revealed on the Walt Disney Company’s biannual D23 conference Saturday, in which Stone, by way of video message, mentioned the movie has a “punk rock” vibe and is about in London in the Nineteen Seventies.
Stone might be joined on the massive display by Emma Thompson, Paul Walter Hauser and Joel Fry. It was directed by “I, Tonya” filmmaker Craig Gillespie.
“Cruella” is predicted to come to theaters May 28, 2021.
