Sonu Sood in Difficulty: BMC’s accusation on actor- Ignoring the notice made the residential building a hotel; Police complaint
Actor Sonu Sood, who came to the discussion during the lockdown by helping the needy, is seen getting caught in the difficulties. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has accused him of converting a 6-storey residential building into a hotel. A complaint has also been lodged in Juhu Police Station in this regard.
The BMC has said in the complaint that the actor turned the Shakti Sagar Building on AB Nair Road in Mumbai into a non-permit hotel. Shakti Sagar is a residential building and cannot be used commercially. The actor has been accused of increasing part of the building, making changes to the map and usage. According to the complaint, Sonu Sood continued to make illegal constructions even after the notice was given.
Sonu went to court against notice
BMC officials said that Sonu Sood had filed an application in the Mumbai court against the notice, but he could not get interim relief from there. The court granted him 3 weeks’ time to appeal in the High Court. The deferment has passed and till now neither the illegal constructions were removed nor they are backtracking from the decision of its use.
Sonu Sood has also reacted to the case. He termed the allegations as false and said that permission was taken for the user change of the land and is now waiting for approval from Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority.
What will happen next?
Police will investigate on BMC complaint. If there is confirmation of disturbances in this, then the police can lodge an FIR under the Maharashtra Region and Town Planning Act.
