Titled ‘The Bridgman’, the film will be released in Kannada and Hindi languages. This project will direct Kodankeri, who directed the Hindi horror thriller ‘Home Stay’ in 2016. The director feels that creating a biographical drama is challenging because if the filmmaker shows the life of a person, then the audience can get a glimpse of the documentary film.
Director Santosh Kodenkeri says, ‘It’s like a parallel film. This is a film like ‘Sand ki Aankh’ or ‘Manjhi: The Mountain Man’, so the style of filmmaking has to portray a true character and theme in a cinematic way. It is a bit challenging, if we show the story of Girish Bhardwaj in the same way, it can look like a documentary, so we have to add some material and we have to show some issues during our journey.
Talking about getting the necessary permission from Bhardwaj for the film, Santhosh Kodankeri said, ‘We have taken his official permission to make a film on his life. He is only concerned that people should know his real story without commercial value because he does not belong to the film background, but he is very happy. We have completed the script of the film and we need many actors in the film. We are shooting the film at five different locations including Kerala and Hyderabad. We have started the casting of the film and very soon we will make an announcement.
