West Bengal Assembly Election 2021: Last year BJP won both Darjeeling Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha seat but many people believe that if BJP could not achieve any concrete achievement for the people of this region then it should get its credibility in this area. It will be difficult to save

Earlier, there was speculation about who would take possession of the three seats in the mountain in 2021. But suddenly the answer to this question has changed because Gurung, the leader of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, has decided to give his support to the Trinamool Congress. Now Trinamool estimates that after getting the support of two leaders of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, now its position is better in this area. But the BJP has included five regional parties in its alliance. These five parties are – GNLF, CPRM, All India Gorkha League, Gorkhaland Rajya Nirman Morcha and Sumeti Mukti Morcha. Separate Gorkhaland is no longer the main issue in the state assembly elections to be held in 2021. The next election will be contested on two demands. First, any permanent political solution for the Hill-Terai region and second, giving tribal status to 13 hill communities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured the people that the BJP will fulfill their demands.
Difficult to save credit for BJP in these seats
Last year, BJP won both Darjeeling Lok Sabha and Assembly seats, but many believe that if BJP does not achieve any concrete achievement for the people of this region then it will be difficult to save its credibility in this area. The BJP has won the Darjeeling Lok Sabha Constituency three times since 2009 and was joined by the GJM and other parties.Know Darjeeling Hilz’s equation
Darjeeling Hilz has six assembly seats and out of which TMC has one seat while BJP has no seat. The CPIM has one, the GJM has two, while the remaining seat is held by the Congress. The Gorkha community also has influence in the surrounding plains. Two MLAs from Darjeeling of GJM gave their support to BJP after 2016 but now Gurung has withdrawn his support. Gurung went underground in 2017 as the Mamta government had filed a case in connection with the violent Gorkhaland movement under anti-terrorism law. He appeared before the media in Kolkata in October and announced that he would now support Mamata Banerjee. The tension between Gurung and Binoy Tamang has increased since then. Binoy Tamang is his former colleague who was heading the pro-TMC faction of GJM since 2017.
Bimal Gurung has announced that it will win at least 18 seats to the Trinamool Congress in North Bengal in next year’s state assembly elections. “I have joined hands with Mamata Banerjee. We will win 17-18 seats in North Bengal. BJP has betrayed the Gorkhas and has ruined their 12 years ”, Gurung said in the meeting. She said that Mamta Banerjee has assured them that she will find a political solution to the Gorkhaland issue. A delegation of BJP alliance partners from Darjeeling met Kailash Vijayvargiya, BJP’s national secretary and in-charge of Bengal, with Union Minister Kishan Reddy in Delhi.
